Lumber from the mill

Installing an RV site just incase one of you ever show up :o) . And in between to maples mailed to me from Ont. a few years ago I'm building a shed to store my rocking hounding rocks . It will have a washroom and 6' cantilervered deck out front for sitting on over looking the valley. Every stick of wood will come from the mill. I thought I'd made the pics. smaller but have to click original for them to show here.

What kind of wood is that Bill? It sure looks great.

Framings all fir full size ruff sawen. It's been drying a few years ( maybe up to ten) nails go in easy but you cannot pull them back out surprise.

Man I can only dream of wood like that where I am. You're a lucky man.

Managed to get a little more done after work yesterday & get enough done today to get a lumber tarp throwen over top to get inside and work out of the rain. It will get some green metal roofing once the rain quits in a few days.

He bill,

I've used kiln dried fir, but not air aged fir (most of the fir I cut I use when it is still a bit green). Is there a difference? I know some kiln dried fir can be brittle, where the green wood is better than that.

Most of this wood is probably around 19% same as kiln dried but some has been drying 10 years or more and is very brittle . Most of my building off the mill has been from dead trees but not dry . One think it sure is heavy to work with compared to KD lumber from the store.

Hi, Wayne, good to hear from you.  Sorry I couldn't stop by on the way home from the Paul Bunyan show this year.  Hope all is well over your way.  As for a ride, just stand out on the road with your thumb out & I'll give you a lift!

Had some progress in spare time . Yesterday I logged a good size cedar & sawed a couple of the logs off it today for shelves.

I resized the pics. for those without high speed hope it helped.
