Norwood Sawmills is Looking for New Tradeshow Team Members

If you’re passionate about sawmilling, and enjoy chatting with people, working in a team and doing a bit of travelling, this opportunity could be perfect for you!! – We’re looking for more positive and enthusiastic Norwood sawmill owners to join Norwood’s roving tradeshow team.

As a Norwood Sawmill owner and member of the Norwood family, we are reaching out to see if you are interested in applying to join the team.

Norwood demonstrates sawmills at tradeshows and fairs from coast to coast in the U.S. and Canada throughout the year.  We shoot the sawdust with existing owners, and show the mills to prospective new owners, explain sawmill features and try to match them with the right equipment to fit their sawmilling needs.

Because the position is part-time and follows the calendar of shows and fairs, it is best-suited for people with flexible schedules.

Summary: Norwood tradeshow team members travel to pre-scheduled fairs and tradeshows, set up the equipment, participate throughout the fairs (demonstrate sawmills, answer questions, help new and prospective customers, and take orders) and dismantle and repack the equipment after the fair is closed.

 Responsibilities:

•             Attend, and participate at, tradeshows and fairs throughout North America as requested.

•             Learn operational and functional aspects of Norwood equipment and competing equipment, as well as features and price structures.

•             Engage, and build a rapport, with new and existing customers.

•             Set up, operate and demonstrate the equipment.

•             Interact with new and existing customers and fellow Norwood team members in a positive, constructive, courteous and professional manner.

•             Answer questions from, and educate, prospective and existing customers about the features and benefits of Norwood equipment.

•             Take and process customers’ orders.

 

Preferred Skills & Experience: The successful candidate:

•             is a motivated self-starter,

•             connects well with people,

•             easily builds a rapport with customers,

•             enjoys working in a sales environment,

•             has good communication skills,

•             is conscientious,

•             has a keen aptitude with machinery,

•             has a solid working knowledge of, and comfort with, sawmills,

•             works constructively in a team environment,

•             has an infallible positive and energetic attitude, and

•             is someone of high integrity and honesty.

The following skills and experience are considered assets, but are not mandatory:

•             Bilingualism (French or Spanish).

•             Sales experience.

Compensation is a day rate. All reasonable travel, accommodation and food expenses are covered.
